Social Media Competition Rules

Breast International Group-aisbl, with its legal address at rue de Bretagne 20, 1200 Brussels, Belgium (hereinafter “BIG”). The Breast International Group (BIG) is an international not-for-profit organisation that represents the largest global network of academic research groups dedicated to finding better treatments and cures for breast cancer. Its mission is to facilitate and accelerate breast cancer research at an international level.

BIG against breast cancer was created to raise funds and help finance clinical trials and research programmes initiated by BIG that have no commercial interest but are crucial for patients. 

BIG against breast cancer is organizing a social media competition (the “Competition”) through a post (the “Post”) shared simultaneously on its social media platforms Facebook and Instagram (collectively, the “Social Media Platforms”).

  1. Eligibility
  • This Competition is open to all individuals aged 18 years or above, that have a personal account on at least one of the Social Media Platforms.
  • To be considered for the Competition, participants must also meet the conditions set out in the Post and participate during the Competition period stated in the Post.
  • Incomplete or incorrect entries will not be considered.

 

  1. Draw

    The winner will be chosen randomly among all of the participants meeting the eligibility criteria. The winner’s username will be announced in the caption of the competition post on Instagram as well as personally contacted by message by BIG against breast cancer on one of the Social Media Platforms and BIG against breast cancer will request additional information. If the winner does not provide this information within 10 working days, another winner will be designated.


  2. Prize
  • The winner will receive the prize specified in the Post.
  • The prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable for cash or other items.

  1. Disqualification

Will be automatically disqualified from the Competition, participants who:

  • Participate in the Competition via several different accounts on the Social Media Platforms,
  • Violate the Competition rules,
  • Violate the terms of service of the Social Media Platforms, or
  • Are HQ staff members of BIG.

  1. Limitation of Liability
  • BIG against breast cancer will not incur any liability as a result of the organization of this Competition, in particular if, in the event of force majeure or events beyond its control, it is required to cancel, shorten, extend or postpone the Competition.
  • The Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, the Social Media Platforms.

  1. Personal Data
  • The personal information collected within the framework of this Competition is processed in accordance with the law of 30 July 2018 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data, as well as Regulation No. 2016/679, the so-called General Data Protection Regulation. Participants are informed that the personal data concerning them, recorded in the context of this Competition, are necessary for their participation to be taken into account.
  • Participants have a right of access, rectification, opposition, right to erase their data, right to limit the processing of their data and right to the portability of information collected on any document concerning themselves. The exercise of these rights may be limited by applicable laws.

  1. Disputes

    In the event of a dispute, BIG against breast cancer will rely solely on the jurisdiction of the courts of the judicial district of Brussels.

  2. Adherence to Rules

    Participation in the BIG against breast cancer Competition implies acceptance of these rules.
